The towerless church is high, as if on a bastion, above Rind Å. The cemetery is divided in the middle by a deep gorge, formed by a violent landslide in the mid-1800s. It is said that a large part of the cemetery drifted away with coffins in the strong current in Rind Å. The church bell is from 1710. The organ is from 1958. The church and cemetery are very beautifully situated with a view of the river valley close to the confluence with Skjern Å. Built year 1150-1200. The church is open to visitors during the daytime.

6. Herningsholm

Show sight on map

Herningsholm is a manor house from the year 1579 located in Herning in the northeastern part of the city. It is Herning's oldest building, and it was originally built in the Renaissance style by the nobleman Joshua von Qualen, who had it erected on a rampart near a stream in a damp meadow area. The farm was then called Vig, but was rebuilt in 1754 and built in a simple classicist style using the old manor house walls from the Renaissance. The unsymmetrical windows of the main building bear witness to the time from before the Baroque made its entry into Denmark.
