The Finnish Seamen's Mission was established in 1875. It was established to help Finns travelling abroad, particularly seafarers and migrant workers. It is a Christian organisation which provides church services and pastoral care, and also aims to provide cultural and social services to the Finnish community. The Secretary General (Pääsihteeri) as of 2015 is Hannu Suihkonen.

Oulu Cathedral is an Evangelical Lutheran cathedral and the seat of the Diocese of Oulu, located in the center of Oulu, Finland. The church was built in 1777 as a tribute to the king of Sweden Gustav III and named after his wife as Sofia Magdalena's church.

Oulu 1 is the outermost lighthouse of the fairway leading to the Port of Oulu, located north of Hailuoto in Finnish territorial waters off Oulu. It is located on the territory of the former municipality of Haukipudas. The lighthouse was built and installed in 1964.

The Välinkangas water tower is a water tower built between 1967 and 1969 in the Välinkangas district of Oulu. The water tower is located along Highway 4 at the highest point of the borough and is a prominent landmark. At the top of the tower there has been an observation deck open to the public and the Oulu Arktos Observatory of the Astronomical Society. Today, the plateau is not open to the public.

The Maritime Museum is located at the Matila House in Pikisaari, Oulu, which is the oldest preserved wooden house in the city. The building has once also served as a customs duty and its historical sources can be traced to the 1730s. The building was survived without damaging the 1822 Great Fire. The museum is maintained by the Museum of Northern Ostrobothnia.

Osprey and Salmon is a fountain sculpture located in Pokkisenpuisto, Oulu. The bronze sculpture, unveiled in 1960, was designed by sculptor Oskari Jauhiainen, and it is the first actual public fountain sculpture in Oulu. The animal-themed bronze statue is placed in the middle of a circular pool, on a natural stone lifted from the rapids. The dimensions of the sculpture are 195 × 100 × 105 cm.

The Road of Illumination is an environmental artwork by sculptor Laila Pullinen located in Raksila, Oulu, completed in 1986. The work consists of an abstract sculpture cast in bronze surrounded by a shaped lawn mound. The sculpture is a monument to Yrjö Kallinen (1886–1976).

The Tuira Church is an evangelical Lutheran church in Tuira, Oulu. The church building has been designed by architect Harald Andersin and it was inaugurated as a chapel of Oulu parish in 1916. The parish of Oulu was divided into smaller parishes in 1966 and the chapel in Tuira was inaugurated as a church. At the time the first extension of the church was started according to plans of architect Mikko Huhtela. The current form is from 1992 when the second extension of the building was completed.

Oulu Pentecostal Church is a Pentecostal church of the Pentecostal Church of Finland in Oulu, Finland, with approximately 1,250 members in 2009. The congregation was founded in 1931. The leading pastor of the church is Kauko Uusila.

Polskis is a sculpture made by sculptor Kari Huhtamo from polished acid-proof steel, depicting two divers just as they hit the surface of the water. The sculpture was completed in 1976, and it was one of the nominees in an invitational competition organised by the City of Oulu in 1975, in which a sculpture to be placed in front of the Raksila swimming hall was chosen. Polskis is the first public steel sculpture in the City of Oulu.

Kyösti Kallio Park is a park in the grid plan area of the City of Oulu in the districts of Hollihaa and Lever. The four-block-wide park stretches from Aleksanterinkatu to Uusikatu, in the south the park is bordered by Puistokatu and in the north by the former Laitakatu, which currently serves as a pedestrian and bicycle route.

Pateniemi Peace Association is a prayer house and activity house located in Pateniemi, Oulu. It represents the conservative Laestadian revival movement, whose umbrella organisation is the Central Association of Finnish Peace Societies. An important form of activity of the Pateniemi Peace Society is the societies where social speeches based on biblical texts are given.
