2. Église Saint-Léger

The church of Saint-Léger is the largest of the churches in Cognac. A former priory of the Benedictines, it is now the main parish church of the city. Built from 1130 onwards, it was enlarged and remodelled over the next three centuries, which explains the presence of many architectural styles, a unique combination in a region where the Romanesque style predominates.
