The Schlossberg is a tree-covered hill of 456 metres (1,496 ft) located in the area of the city of Freiburg im Breisgau. It is directly to the east of Freiburg's Old Town and is part of the Black Forest. The main geological fault is at the western edge of the Schlossberg, towards the Upper Rhine Graben.
2. Freiburg Minster
Freiburg Minster is the cathedral of Freiburg im Breisgau, southwest Germany. The last duke of Zähringen had started the building around 1200 in romanesque style. The construction continued in 1230 in Gothic style. The minster was partly built on the foundations of an original church that had been there from the beginning of Freiburg, in 1120.
3. Swabian Gate
The Schwabentor, also called Obertor in the Middle Ages, is the more recent of the two remaining city gates of the medieval defensive wall of Freiburg im Breisgau in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. In 2022, it was suggested to become world heritage.
4. Alte Synagoge
The synagogue known as the Old Synagogue on today's site of the Old Synagogue in Freiburg im Breisgau was built in 1869/70 and destroyed in the Kristallnacht pogrom in 1938. During construction work on the redesign of the square in 2016, remains of the building foundation were discovered, uncovered and documented in several places before it was partially removed and filled in to cover it with a symbolic water basin. The fountain system, known as the Place of Remembrance, corresponds in size and location to the floor plan of the destroyed synagogue and was opened to the public in 2017. With regard to its conception and use, the memorial fountain is still the subject of controversy today.
5. Lorettokapelle
The Loretto Chapel on the Lorettoberg in Freiburg is one of many replicas of the Santa Casa within the Basilica of the Holy House in Loreto in the Italian pilgrimage town of Loreto. The ensemble includes the Brüderhaus next to the chapel, the Stations of the Cross originally leading up from Lorettostraße and the Hilda Tower above the chapel, which was built in 1886 and named after the last Grand Duchess of Baden, Hilda of Nassau.
6. Sankt Martin
The Church of St. Martin is a Roman Catholic parish church on the Rathausplatz in Freiburg's old town and convent church of the Dominicans. It is dedicated to St. Martin and was built as a monastery church of a Franciscan convent.
7. Herz-Jesu-Kirche
The Herz-Jesu-Kirche is a Catholic church in Freiburg im Breisgau in the district of Stühlinger, which was consecrated in 1897. It is a historicist building, which is reminiscent of Limburg Cathedral with its double-tower façade.
8. Ludwigskirche
The Ludwigskirche in Neuburg, a district of Freiburg im Breisgau, is the place of worship of the Protestant Ludwigsgemeinde. The church, located in Starkenstraße, is directly adjacent to the Old Cemetery and is named after Grand Duke Ludwig I, who had the old Ludwigskirche built, which was destroyed by bombs in 1944 and was located on today's Habsburgerstraße and Rheinstraße. The district of Neuburg is often mistakenly assigned to Herdern, as the term Neuburg is not very well anchored in the population.
9. Schauinslandbahn
The Schauinslandbahn is a gondola lift in the Black Forest area of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It links a lower station in the municipality of Horben, near the city of Freiburg im Breisgau, with an upper station near the summit of the Schauinsland mountain. The line is operated by VAG Freiburg, the city transport operator for Freiburg. The same company operates that city's tram and bus network, including bus route 21 that links the lower station of the Schauinslandbahn to the terminus of tram route 2 at Günterstal.
10. Konzerthaus Freiburg
The Freiburg Konzerthaus is a concert hall in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, that was opened to the public in 1996. Based on plans by architect Dietrich Bangert, the building is used for concerts and performances, as well as conventions and meetings. Under the working title "Cultural Event and Conference Location", it was one of the most controversial building projects in Freiburg since the end of World War II. Until 2016, it served as the headquarters of the Southwest German Radio Symphony Orchestra. With its multiuse great hall, it serves as a venue for a range of diverse events.
11. Adelhauser Kirche
The Adelhauser Church Mariä Announcement and St. Katharina is a Roman Catholic church in the district of Altstadt-Ring from Freiburg im Breisgau. It was originally the church of the Dominican monastery Adelhausen and is now a branch church of the Freiburg cathedral parish.

12. Christuskirche
The Christuskirche is a Protestant church in Freiburg im Breisgau in the district of Wiehre. It was built between 1889 and 1891 according to designs by the architect Ludwig Diemer and inaugurated on 31 May 1891. It belongs to the parish of Freiburg Ost of the Evangelical Church in Baden.
13. Sankt Cyriak und Perpetua Kirche
St. Cyriak and Perpetua is a Roman Catholic church in the Wiehre district of Freiburg im Breisgau. The small baroque church is located on Annaplatz on Kirchstraße and is therefore also called Annakirchle. It belongs to the Freiburg Wiehre-Günterstal pastoral care unit.

14. Europa-Park Stadion
The Europa-Park Stadion, also known as the Mooswaldstadion by fans, is a football stadium in Freiburg, Germany. It primarily serves as the home stadium of SC Freiburg, replacing the club's former home, the Dreisamstadion. It is located in a part of the city called Brühl, immediately to the west of Freiburg Airport.
15. Sankt Thomas Kirche
The Roman Catholic Church of St. Thomas is located in the Freiburg district of Betzenhausen and is a branch church of the Catholic parish of the Holy Family. It was built in 1767/68 by the Baroque master builder Johann Baptist Häring and is under the patronage of the Apostle Thomas.
16. St. Peter und Paul
St. Peter and Paul is the Roman Catholic parish church of Kappel, a district of Freiburg im Breisgau. Built in the Baroque style, it is also the location of an older, late Gothic, much-venerated image of the Mother of God. The parish, together with St. Barbara in Freiburg-Littenweiler, St. Hilarius in Freiburg-Ebnet and Holy Trinity in Freiburg-Waldsee, forms the Freiburg-East pastoral care unit of the Freiburg deanery within the Archdiocese of Freiburg. The church and its history have been researched in particular by the Merdingen teacher and art historian Hermann Brommer.
17. St. Hilarius
St. Hilarius is the Roman Catholic church in the Freiburg district of Ebnet. The church patrons are St. Hilarius and St. Remigius. It is elevated on the slope and is considered the oldest baroque country church in Breisgau. Together with the Ebnet Castle, it is one of the sights of Freiburg and the Dreisam Valley.
18. Sankt Urban
St. Urban is the Catholic parish church in the district of Herdern in the city of Freiburg im Breisgau. The current building dates from 1935/36. The namesake is the canonized Pope Urban I, who is considered the patron saint of winegrowers.
19. Heroischer Rhythmus IX
Roberto Lardera, informally known as Berto Lardera, was an Italian sculptor of the 20th century. He was born in La Spezia, Italy, the son of a naval engineer. He was self-taught and his leanings towards monumental, metallic sculptures may have been influenced by the sights he grew up with in the naval dockyards.
20. Seeparkturm
The Seeparkturm is a 15-metre-high wooden observation tower in the Seepark in Freiburg im Breisgau. It offers a good overview of the entire park area, the city of Freiburg with the Black Forest in the background and to the west to the Kaiserstuhl and the Vosges. It was built in 1986 on the occasion of the State Garden Show on a small elevation on the northern shore of the lake according to plans by the architects Heinz Hilmer and Christoph Sattler, the construction costs at that time amounted to 100,000 DM.
21. Martin's Gate
The Martinstor, a former town fortification on Kaiser-Joseph-Straße, is the older of the two gates of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, that have been preserved since medieval times. Both gates, the Martinstor and the Schwabentor, are located in the city centre. In medieval times the Martinstor was also known as Norsinger Tor.
22. Siegesdenkmal
The Siegesdenkmal in Freiburg im Breisgau is a monument to the German victory in the Franco-Prussian War in 1871. It was erected at the northern edge of the historic center of Freiburg im Breisgau next to the former Karlskaserne (barracks). After World War II it was moved 100m to the west. Today it is located on Europaplatz.
23. Maria-Magdalena-Kirche
Maria-Magdalena is the church center in the Rieselfeld district of the city of Freiburg im Breisgau in the Brutalist style. The compact concrete building is used bi-denominationally by the congregations of the two major Christian denominations, the Roman Catholic parish of St. Maria Magdalena and the Protestant parish in Rieselfeld.

24. Stadtgarten
The Stadtgarten of Freiburg is a 2.6 ha park within the Neuburg district. It has an old tree grove and a large rose garden, and lies between the Leopoldring, Jackob Burckhardt, Ludwig and Mozart streets near Freiburg's city centre. It is connected to Karlsplatz via the Karlssteg footbridge, which is made from pre-stressed concrete. Since 2008 the Schlossberg Tram, an inclined elevator, leads up to Schlossberg. It replaced the Schlossberg Cable Car built in 1968.

The Jewish Cemetery Freiburg im Breisgau was established in 1870 on the corner of Elsässer Straße and Rosbaumweg in Freiburg im Breisgau in Baden-Württemberg and is still occupied today. It is a protected cultural monument.
26. Archäologisches Museum Colombischlössle
The Colombischlössle Archeological Museum is a museum in Freiburg im Breisgau in southwest Germany which features the prehistoric inheritance of the High and Upper Rhine. It was founded as the Museum of Prehistory and Early History in 1983. The focus of the museum is on the human development of the High and upper Rhine from the Paleolithic Age to the Early Middle Ages.

27. Wasserschlössle
The Freiburger Wasserschlössle is located in the Sternwald above the Wiehre district. It is an elevated water tank with a striking front in the style of a castle. The elevated water tank has been partially installed in the mountainside and is operated by the Freiburg water supplier Bn Netze.
28. Maria-Hilf
The Roman Catholic parish church Maria Hilfe der Christen, Maria Hilf for short, is the church of the parish of the same name in the Oberwiehre district of the Freiburg district of Wiehre. It belongs to the Wiehre-Günterstal pastoral care unit of the Freiburg deanery in the Archdiocese of Freiburg.

29. Universitätskirche
The University Church, or Universitätskirche, is a Catholic church at the University of Freiburg. Located on Bertoldstrasse amongst the university buildings, the former Jesuit church (Jesuitenkirche) has been part of the university since the 18th Century.
30. Holbeinpferdchen
Holbeinpferd is the colloquial name of the sculpture of a horse in the suburb Wiehre in Freiburg im Breisgau in Baden-Württemberg, Germany which is standing at the corner of Günterstal and Holbein streets. The concrete sculpture of a foal was created in 1936 by the sculptor Werner Gürtner. It is 1.90 m both long and high and weighs nearly 1 tonne.
31. Die Spur
Robert Schad created the sculpture Die Spur in 2018 for the "Institute for Disease Modelling and Targeted Medicine" (IMITATE) at the University Medical Center Freiburg. It was erected in the presence of the artist at the end of April 2021 between the institute building and the sidewalk of Breisacher Straße 113 in the Stühlinger district of Freiburg im Breisgau. The institute, which is to be occupied in 2021, wants to develop individual therapies using data analysis.
32. Historical Merchants' Hall
The Historical Merchants' Hall is one of the most outstanding buildings in Freiburg im Breisgau. It is situated on the south side of the Minster Square. It stands out clearly due to its dominant red facade.

33. Waldtraut vom Mühlwald
The village Günterstal is the southernmost district of Freiburg im Breisgau. It is located in the so-called Bohrer-Tal area at the foot of the 1284 metre-high Schauinsland in the Günterstal district of the Black Forest. Due to this, Freiburg prides itself on being Germany's highest city. Günterstal has more than 2,000 inhabitants and is separated from Freiburg by a two-kilometre-wide meadow, the "Wonnhaldewiesen". The village was incorporated into Freiburg in 1890. The southern neighbouring municipality is Horben.
34. Johanneskirche
The Johanneskirche is a Roman Catholic church located in Freiburg im Breisgau. It was first opened in 1899 and is currently located in the Wiehre district. Around the church, further historic buildings were built. On the western side is the presbytery of the community next to a vocational school and to the north is the Lessingschule. At the same time as the Johanneskirche was being completed, the Protestant Christians built their own church near to Johanneskirche, the Christuskirche.
35. Skulpturenpfad WaldMenschen
The sculpture path forest man is an installation of the sculptor Thomas Rees in the Arboretum Freiburg at the Waldhaus Freiburg. It begins on the open space behind the Waldhaus and leads from there into the forest, the figures integrate on the right and left of the way into the forest, so that they are sometimes difficult to discover or appear completely surprisingly, the path ends on the Wonnhalden circuit. The root head, witch shot and the tree world are set up on the open space.
36. Markuskirche
The Protestant St. Mark's Church in Freiburg im Breisgau is a modern, octagonal hall church made of concrete with a free-standing 35-metre-high church tower in the Mooswald district on the edge of the Seepark. It serves the Protestant parish of Freiburg-West, which is a member of the Evangelical Church in Baden.

37. Heilig Geist
The Klinikkirche Heilig Geist is a Roman Catholic church building on the grounds of the University Hospital Freiburg im Breisgau in the district of Stühlinger. It belongs to the Freiburg-Mitte pastoral care unit in the Freiburg deanery of the Archdiocese of Freiburg.
38. Auferstehungskirche
The Church of the Resurrection in the Littenweiler district of the city of Freiburg im Breisgau is a Protestant church and sermon church in the parish of Freiburg-Ost. It was built in 1961/62 according to plans by the architects Herbert Dörr (1924–2002) and Klaus Gottschall (1923–1995). It is entered in the list of cultural monuments in Baden-Württemberg and is also one of the reliably open churches.
