Activities in Garmisch-Partenkirchen1. Zugspitze
The Zugspitze, at 2,962 m (9,718 ft) above sea level, is the highest peak of the Wetterstein Mountains and the highest mountain in Germany. It lies south of the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria, and the Austria–Germany border is on its western summit. South of the mountain is the Zugspitzplatt, a high karst plateau with numerous caves. On the flanks of the Zugspitze are two glaciers, the largest in Germany: the Northern Schneeferner with an area of 30.7 hectares and Höllentalferner with an area of 24.7 hectares. Shrinking of the Southern Schneeferner led to the loss of glacier status in 2022.
2. Königshaus am Schachen
The King's House on Schachen is a small villa (Schlösschen) at Schachen, Wetterstein Formation, about 10 km south of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, Germany, built by Ludwig II of Bavaria. The house was constructed between 1869 and 1872.
3. Alpengarten auf dem Schachen
The Alpine garden on the Schachen is an alpine plants in the Wetterstein Mountains, a mountain group of the northern limestone Alps. The Alpine Garden on the Schachen, as it is also called, is located in the Bavarian part of the mountain range and is a branch of the Munich-Nymphenburg Botanical Garden.
4. Burgruine Werdenfels
The ruins of Werdenfels Castle stand about 80 metres above the Loisach valley between Garmisch and Farchant in the county of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Upper Bavaria. The spur castle was used until 1632 as the administrative centre of the County of Werdenfels, but began to fall into disrepair thereafter.

The Alte Apotheke in Garmisch is a building in the market town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Upper Bavaria, Germany. The house is a listed building on the basis of the Monument Protection Act of 1 October 1973, the file number is D-1-80-117-178.
6. Maria Heimsuchung
The Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary is a small chapel of the Virgin Mary on the Zugspitzplatt on the Schneeferner. Due to its location at 2600 m above sea level, it is Germany's highest place of worship. It belongs to the parish association of Partenkirchen-Farchant-Oberau.
