1. Burg Isenberg (Isenburg)

The Isenburg in Hattingen, called Isenberg Castle in old documents, was built for Arnold von Altena (1173–1209) on the Isenberg west of the town in the years 1193 to 1199. Destroyed in 1225, the spur castle is now preserved as a ruin on a steep rocky spur above the Hattinger Ruhrschleife. Inside the ruins stands the 19th-century Custodis country house.

The Bügeleisenhaus is a half-timbered house built in 1611 in the old town of Hattingen in the southern Ruhr area. The name comes from its striking shape (iron building), which is due to its location at the meeting of two alleys.

4. Bismarckturm Hattingen

The Bismarck Tower Hattingen is an observation tower in the south of the city of Hattingen on the Schulenberg. The construction of the Bismarck Tower was decided by the council of the city of Hattingen in 1899. The impetus came from a donation of one thousand marks from the merchant Robert Hill.

The Hattingen City Museum was opened in 2001 in the Blankenstein district in the old office buildings in the centre of the village in the immediate vicinity of Blankenstein Castle and the Gethmann Garden. The collection was previously located in the Old Town Hall in Hattingen's old town.

6. Altes Rathaus

The Old Town Hall is a half-timbered house in Hattingen. From about 1420, the building was a market hall for meat sales, built of Ruhr sandstone. In 1576, the building was extended by two floors in half-timbered construction and used as a town hall.

7. Russischer Ehrenfriedhof

The Russian Cemetery Ludwigstal is a Soviet cemetery of honour in Hattingen-Blankenstein on the road Zur Maasbeck near Welper. Only the dead from the Second World War are buried on it. Of the 155 graves, 151 belong to Russian prisoners of war. A memorial at the entrance to the cemetery commemorates the victims of forced labor in Hattingen.

The Stammhaus Gethmann is a half-timbered house at Hauptstraße 12 in the Blankenstein district of Hattingen. It is a two-storey slate half-timbered building. The Gethmann family had lived here since 1730, making a name for themselves as a clothier and later as an entrepreneurial family.

10. Heilig-Geist-Spital

The Heilig-Geist-Spital was a poorhouse and orphanage in the city centre of Hattingen at Emschestraße 38. It is located on the eastern part of the church square of the church of St. George. In 1474, the Hospital Order of the Holy Spirit built a hospital and inn here on a donation basis "in honour of God and the Holy Spirit and the patrons St. George and Margaret". It was administered by two guest masters, who checked the need and encouraged those in need who were able to work to cooperate. The operating costs were covered by public collections and pious foundations.

St. Mauritius is a neo-Gothic, three-aisled hall church in the middle of Niederwenigern, a district of Hattingen in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany). It is the church of the Catholic parish of St. Mauritius Hattingen-Niederwenigern, which has belonged to the large parish of St. Peter and Paul Hattingen in the Diocese of Essen since 2007.
