The Herz-Jesu-Kirche is a Catholic parish church in Herne, Germany. It is located in the south of the city of Herne and is the second Catholic church built in the 20th century in the city of Herne within the borders of 1897. Today it is the parish church of the St. Dionysius parish of the Emschertal deanery in the Archdiocese of Paderborn.

2. St. Marien

St. Mary's Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in Herne-Baukau, Germany. Today it is the parish church of the St. Dionysius parish of the Emschertal deanery in the Archdiocese of Paderborn. The church is a neo-Gothic building, largely executed in its present form in the years 1907–1909 according to designs by Johannes Franziskus Klomp. Thomas Parent calls the brick façade of the church probably the most artistic in the Ruhr area.

3. Heimatmuseum Unser Fritz

The Heimatmuseum Unser Fritz is one of the three locations of the Emschertal Museum on the social history of Herne and Wanne-Eickel. In the year of the founding of the town of Wanne-Eickel (1926), it was established as a local history museum. After several changes of location, it is now housed in the former elementary school of the now Herne district of Unser Fritz.

5. Cranger Kirmes

The Cranger Kirmes is a funfair in Germany, located near the Rhine–Herne Canal in Crange in the city of Herne located in Metro Ruhr. It is the biggest funfair in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the second biggest fair in Germany, only behind the Munich Oktoberfest. In 2008 there were 4.7 million visitors. At an area of only 110,000 square metres (1,200,000 sq ft) and 500 show businesses it is called the "most overcrowded fair of the world".

6. Christuskirche Wanne

The Christuskirche is a Protestant church in the district of Wanne in the city of Herne, at Hauptstraße 245. The neo-Gothic style building was built in 1886 and 1887 according to a design by the Barmen architect Gerhard August Fischer. Previously, Fischer had already been responsible for several new church buildings in neighboring Bochum and for the church of St. Bonifatius in Herne, of which only the tower remains after severe war damage. According to his plans, the new building of the Protestant St. John's Church in Eickel was also built in 1895/1896.

7. St. Konrad

The Catholic Church of St. Konrad of Parzham, located in the south of the city of Herne, was one of the two churches in the pastoral association Herne-Süd and parish church of the St. Konrad of Parzham parish of Herne. Today it is the parish church of the St. Dionysius parish of the Emschertal deanery in the Archdiocese of Paderborn. After completion of the realignment of the municipality's real estate, this church building will be permanently closed on June 30, 2024. A profanation has been requested.

8. Lutherkirche Wanne

The Luther Church is a Protestant church in the Wanne district of Herne, which was consecrated in 1908. Together with the Cranger Church, it belongs to the district of Crange of the parish of Wanne-Eickel, in the church district of Herne of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia.

11. Hansa-Haus

The Hansa-Haus in the section of Bebelstraße (12–16) and Neustraße (19–21) in Herne is a listed building. It was built in 1927/1928 according to a design by the architect Karl Veuhoff, who also acted as the client. The expressionist brick building is one of the other residential and commercial buildings that were built at the end of the 1920s on the territory of today's city of Herne, including perhaps the most important of which is the Sparkasse Wanne-Eickel or the publishing house of the adjacent Herner Anzeiger (Bebelstraße 18).
