3. St. Afra Kirche

The Augustinian monastery of St. Afra in Meissen was founded in 1205 by Bishop Dietrich II of Kittlitz. In the course of the Reformation, the institution was secularized. In 1543, the first princely and state school in Saxony was founded in the buildings. Furthermore, the former monastery has housed the Evangelical Academy of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Saxony, founded in 1949, since 1991.

4. Albrechtsburg

The Albrechtsburg is a Late Gothic castle erected from 1471 till about 1495. It is located in the town centre of Meissen in the German state of Saxony. It is situated on a hill above the river Elbe, adjacent to the Meissen Cathedral.

7. Kornhaus

Garsebacher Schweiz and Götterfelsen are natural monuments in the Triebischtäler landscape conservation area in the district of Meissen in Saxony. They are located on the left side of the Triebisch between the confluence of the Kleine Triebisch and the urban area of Meißen. The approximately three-and-a-half-kilometre-long vein between Korbitz and Garsebach is considered the largest pitch stone deposit in the world.

Meißen station is the largest railway station in the town of Meissen in the German state of Saxony. The station was opened in 1860 in the district of Cölln. Its entrance building, which was built in 1928, is a heritage-listed building and along with the Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof it is considered an architecturally significant transport complex of the interwar period. After the ending of long-distance traffic in the 1960s, the station is now a station of the Dresden S-Bahn with only regional significance.
