1. Schloss Marienfels
Marienfels Castle in Remagen, a town in the north of Rhineland-Palatinate, was built as a villa from 1859 to 1863, mainly in the neo-Gothic style. The castle, with its approximately 800 square meters of living space in 18 rooms, is surrounded by a wooded park of about 100,000 square meters. Marienfels Castle is a listed cultural monument and is designated as a monument zone with its furnishings, outbuildings and park.
2. Arp Museum
The ARP Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck was opened on September 28, 2007 in the Rolandseck district of Remagen. The museum consists of the classicist station building and the "harmoniously" new building of the American architect Richard Meier. In total, it has four exhibition levels that are played with changing presentations. The program of the Dreiler-Haus includes exhibitions with international visual arts, classic concerts as well as a summer chamber music festival with well-known ensembles and soloists, artist talks as well as readings of prominent authors. The focus is on the art of Hans Arp and Sophie Taeuber-Arp. In special exhibitions, sculptures and paintings of contemporary artists are shown in dialogue with these works. In addition, the museum presents paintings from the Middle Ages to modernity from the Rau Collection for Unicef. Since August 2022, the Museum has been a doctorate in art historian Julia Wallner.
3. Friedenskapelle Schwarze Madonna
The Black Madonna chapel is located in Remagen on the banks of the Rhine south of the city center. According to Hans Peter Kürten, it is the only chapel in Germany to date that is reminiscent of a prisoner of war. The anniversary of the inauguration of the chapel has been used annually from neo -Nazis to marches.
4. St. Peter und Paul
St. Peter and Paul is the Catholic parish church of Remagen. It stands on the relics of a Roman fort and is a Romanesque-Gothic church with a neo-Romanesque extension. A special feature in the vicarage is a Romanesque portal, which originally had no connection with the church.
5. Kapelle der unbefleckten Emfängnis Mariens
The Catholic Chapel of the Immaculate Conception in Rolandswerth, a district of the town of Remagen in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Ahrweiler, is a brick building from 1865. It is located on a steep slope above the railway line on the left bank of the Rhine between Brunnenstraße (entrance) and Marienhöhe Street. Although Rolandswerth is not in North Rhine-Westphalia, the chapel belongs to the Catholic parish of St. Martin and St. Severin with its seat in Bad Godesberg in the Bonn city deanery of the Archdiocese of Cologne.
6. Evangelische Kirche
The Evangelical Church in Oberwinter, a district of the unincorporated city of Remagen in the district of Ahrweiler in the north of Rhineland-Palatinate, is a listed baroque sacred building from the 18th century. It belongs to the Evangelical parish of Oberwinter in the Koblenz church district of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland.
