The historic old town in Wetzlar is the city centre of the former imperial city, which was built in the early Middle Ages and is a registered cultural monument as a whole. It has a wide variety of historical traces and urban structures that make the old town area particularly worthy of protection. Even though some of the historic buildings were lost as a result of the renovation of the old town in the 1960s, the historic streets and in many cases still late medieval street cross-sections remain almost unchanged in the entire area within the medieval ring of walls.
2. Hospitalkirche
The Hospital Church in Wetzlar in the Lahn-Dill district of Hesse is an Evangelical Lutheran preaching church. It was built between 1762 and 1764 in the Rococo style and is considered a rare and high-quality example of this architectural style among Lutheran preaching churches. The five-axis hall building with five-eighth closure and western crested roof turret is a Hessian cultural monument with rich interior decoration.
3. Paulskirche
St. Paul's Church was built between 1491 and 1492 in today's Wetzlar district of Hermannstein in Central Hesse. The late Gothic hall church has a three-eighth closure and a west tower from the 1520s. Among the important furnishings from the time of construction are a triumphal cross, a sandstone relief from 1492 and a baptismal font made of red sandstone depicting the birth of Christ.

Wetzlar Cathedral is a large church in the town of Wetzlar, located on the Lahn river some 50 km north of Frankfurt. Construction began in 1230 and is still unfinished, since the western front is still missing its northern belfry. Because of its long period of construction, the church combines romanesque, gothic and baroque architecture.

5. Ev. Kirche
The Evangelical Church is a listed church building in Blasbach, a district of Wetzlar in the Lahn-Dill-Kreis (Hesse). The core Gothic hall church with a crested hipped roof was given its present appearance in the years 1712–1716, including the Baroque furnishings and the two-storey crested roof turret.
6. Bismarckturm Wetzlar
In 1901, the Garbenheimer Warte, a medieval watchtower of the municipal Landwehr in Wetzlar, was completely redesigned. The tower, which was then renamed the Bismarck Tower, is one of 146 Bismarck Towers still in existence in Germany. These towers were built or rebuilt in honour of Prince Otto von Bismarck (1815–1898).

The Evangelical Church in Münchholzhausen, a district of Wetzlar in the Lahn-Dill district of Hesse, is a listed choir tower church with buildings from different architectural periods. A narrow baroque nave extends to the west of the medieval fortified choir tower. The church received its present form in 1937 with a west tower and a new nave, which was added to the north.
10. Reichskammergerichtsmuseum
The Imperial Chamber Court Museum shows an exhibition on the structure, working methods and history of the Imperial Chamber Court during the entire period of its activity. The museum, which opened in 1987, is located in Hofstatt 19 in Wetzlar, a Kameralenpalais built by the chamber court assessor Franz von Pape. It is supported by the Gesellschaft für Reichskammergerichtsforschung e.V., supported by a scientific advisory board. Original sculptures, furniture, sculptures and contemporary printed works are on display. The research centre located in the same building deals with the working principles and history of the impact of the Imperial Chamber Court as well as its role in the constitutional structure of the early modern empire. Another focus is the court's staff.
