Chiesa di Santa Maria Paganica

The church of Santa Maria Paganica is a religious building in L'Aquila, Italy. It owes its name to the village of Paganica, now a hamlet, whose inhabitants contributed to the foundation of the city in the thirteenth century. Due to its importance, it is considered the capoquarto church and extends its name to the historic district in which it is located. In 1902 it was declared a national monument. It was severely damaged by the 2009 earthquake. As of 2023, the consolidation and restoration work on the church has not yet begun.

4. Auditorium del Parco

The Auditorium of the Park, also known as the Auditorium of the Castle by virtue of its location, is a musical and theatrical complex located in L'Aquila, within the park of the Spanish Fort. Born from an idea of Claudio Abbado and designed by the architect Renzo Piano, it was built thanks to the contribution of the autonomous province of Trento as a sign of solidarity after the destruction of the 2009 earthquake.
