Vulcano is a stratovolcano complex in the Mediterranean. It is located on the island of the same name, in the Aeolian archipelago. The word volcano, used for geologically active mountains, derives from the name of this mountain and the island, which in turn owe their name to the Roman god of fire, Vulcan, who resided, according to classical mythology, on the island.

The Terme di San Calogero is a spa located on the island of Lipari, in the Aeolian Islands, Sicily. The current establishment, which stands a few kilometers away from the towns, probably came into operation in 1872, for the exploitation of thermal springs known and used since ancient times. Since 1975 the plant has been closed and since 2011 it has been used as a museum and exhibition area.

10. Stromboli

Stromboli is an Italian island belonging to the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands, in Sicily. Located in the Tyrrhenian basin of the western Mediterranean Sea, the island is the northernmost and easternmost of the Aeolian Islands and covers an area of 12.2 km². On the island there is the volcano of the same name. The island of Stromboli is home to two inhabited centers: Stromboli and Ginostra, on the other side of the island.
