The Teatro Comunale Francesco Stabile is the main theatre of the city of Potenza. Located in the historic center in Piazza Mario Pagano, it is named after the Lucanian musician Francesco Stabile. 2. Chiesa di Santa Lucia
The small church of Santa Lucia is located in Potenza, in a small square between Via Portasalza and Via Santa Lucia. The church, together with the ancient village that surrounds it, is clearly of medieval origin. The church is thought to date back to around 1200. It has always been dedicated to the Syracusan saint. The church is located outside the ancient walls of the historic center, on the western side at the end of Via Pretoria. Because of its location, it is defined as 'extra moenia' (outside the walls) in a report of a pastoral visit of 1571. The virgin and martyr Lucia, protector of the blind who, like many other martyrs of the first centuries, had an ancient cult in the city, is venerated here. Home to a lay confraternity that took care of its decorum, the church damaged by the earthquake of 23 November 1980 has recently been restored. On Sundays it is officiated by the Friars Minor of the nearby parish church of San Michele.
3. Chiesa della Santissima Trinità
Santissima Trinità is a Romanesque-revival church located on Via Pretoria 123 in the city of Potenza, Basilicata, Italy. The church is now infamous as the seventeen year hiding place of the body of Elisa Claps, a young woman murdered by Danilo Restivo in 1993. The parish priest at the time of Claps's disappearance had denied the police permission to search the church despite it having been the last place where the young woman had been seen alive. The church was only searched after Restivo was arrested in England for the murder of Heather Barnett.
