2. Santuario di Ercole Vincitore

The Sanctuary of Hercules Victor is one of the largest complexes of Roman architecture in the Republican era. It belongs to the typology of the so-called Hellenistic sanctuaries, dating back to the II-I centuries BC and built on the wave of the great cultural influence exerted by Hellenistic culture after the definitive Roman conquest of Greece. Located in Tivoli, it is the largest of the Italic sanctuaries dedicated to Hercules and the second largest in the Mediterranean after that of Gades in Spain. It was built between the last decades of the second century BC and 82 BC. Further interventions took place, especially in the area of the theatre, in the Augustan era. Suetonius tells us that Augustus administered justice here on numerous occasions, under the porticoes of the sanctuary.

4. Tomba dei Plauzi

The Mausoleum of the Plauzi, near Tivoli, is a monumental tomb dating back to the very first years of the first century A.D. C. intended to house the members of the rich and influential Roman family of the Plauzi. The oldest inscription commemorates Marcus Plautius Silvanus, consul in 2 BC under Emperor Augustus.

The Temple of the Cough is a former Christian church of the tenth century, founded by reusing a circular building from the Roman era, located on the ancient Via Tiburtina in Tivoli. It is located near the Aniene, near the sanctuary of Ercole Vincitore and the lower portion of Villa d'Este, outside the gate called "del Colle". Nearby there is also a paper mill, now abandoned, built on the structures of the temple of Hercules.
