1. Cable Inglés

The English Cable, also known as the El Alquife dock, is an ore loading dock located in Almeria, Spain, which was in use from 1904 to 1970. It was built by The Alquife Mines and Railway Company Limited for the transport of iron ore from the mines of Alquife, linking the station with the port. In 1998 it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest for being an example of iron architecture in Andalusia and for its ethnographic interest.

2. Iglesia San Juan Evangelista

The church of San Juan Evangelista or San Juan de la Almedina is a Christian temple located in the city of Almeria, specifically in the Barrio de la Almedina. It was built towards the last quarter of the seventeenth century on the site of what was the main mosque of the city during the Muslim rule and later the first cathedral of the city.

3. Enclave Arqueológico Puerta de Almería

The Puerta de Almería Archaeological Enclave is a museum space dependent on the Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions of the Junta de Andalucía and located in the Spanish city of Almeria. On the one hand, it houses the only Roman archaeological remains preserved in the city: a salting factory; and on the other, one of the gates of the Islamic wall that closed the city to the south.

Its maintenance is the responsibility of the Port Authority of Almeria. It is automatic, electric and powered by solar energy. It began operating in 1876.

6. Monumento a los Coloraos

The monument to the Martyrs of Freedom, also known as the monument to the Coloraos or Pingurucho, is a commemorative column erected in the Spanish city of Almeria, located in the city's Plaza de la Constitución. This monument recalls the episode of the Ominous Decade in which a group of liberal fighters, from Gibraltar and dressed in the British navy uniform, of a characteristic red color and that would eventually make them known as the Coloraos, arrived in the city of Almeria in August 1824 to make a pronouncement against the absolutism of the time and a return to the Constitution of 1812. The monument that can be seen today is a replica of the original, which was destroyed in 1943.

9. Refugios subterráneos de Almería

The Spanish city of Almería suffered up to 52 bombings from air and sea, with a total of 754 bombs dropped during the Spanish Civil War. This led to the decision to create a system of underground shelters for the protection of approximately 40,000 civilians. These shelters measure more than 4.5 km long, and they are equipped with a surgery room and a food storage room. They were designed by the local architect Guillermo Langle Rubio, being today the most important and better preserved shelters in all Europe. These refuges have stood the most important attack in all Almería's history, the Bombardment of Almería, by the Nazis in 1937.

10. Castillo del Diezmo

The Castle of Diezmo is a fortification, now almost disappeared, located in the Spanish city of Almeria. Its construction dates back to the time of King Philip III, around the beginning of the seventeenth century.
