The defense towers or watchtowers are constructions of circular plan and trunk -colonal shape that were made around the Pitiusas Islands between the 16th and 18th centuries, in order to be monitored the entrance of unknown ships and pirates that were at that time. They were usually endowed with battlements and matacans for their defense.

The megalithic tomb of Ca Na Costa is located in the western area of the island of Formentera, between the urban centers of La Savina and Es Pujols and near the eastern coast of Estany Pudent, there are archaeological remains of what was probably a megalithic tomb of a religious nature, at the highest point of the area, dominating a wide panorama. In Formentera it is known as "es Rellotge" because of its resemblance to a sundial.

The La Mola lighthouse is a lighthouse located 2.5 km from the village of Pilar de la Mola on the island of Formentera. It was built in 1861 with a project by Emili Pou Bonet and also consists of two houses and some rooms for the activity of lighthouse keeper. The lighthouse light is located about 158 m above sea level and was connected to the electricity grid in 1971.

The Torre des Garroveret, also known as the Torre del Cap de Barbaria, is one of the watchtowers for defending the coasts of the Pityusic Islands from pirate attack. It is the southernmost of those built on the island of Formentera, and of the Pityusic Islands, and controlled navigation between south and west.
