The museum takes the name of the caudillo Estanislao López, governor of the province of Santa Fe between 1818 and 1838; and depends on the Ministry of Innovation and Culture of the province.

Estanislao López Provincial Historical Museum, in the south of the city. This building is managed by the Department of Ethnographic and Colonial Studies, whose direction and inspiration was based on Dr. Agustín Zapata Gollan, one of the main personalities of the Santa Fe culture of the twentieth century.
