Sight 1: El Hombre creador de energía

The man who creates energy is the name given to an 18-meter-high bronze and concrete sculpture, sculpted by the Colombian sculptor Rodrigo Arenas Betancourt, located since 1968 on the south side of the Central Square of the University City of Antioquia, in front of the University Museum. The sculpture depicts a man and a woman on the top of a concrete flower with their arms and hands outstretched upwards, and symbolizes "the new man, navigator of tomorrow, facing the sun, facing cosmic roads, amidst explosions, cataclysms and sidereal darkness."
