The ETA Hoffmann Theater is the municipal theater of Bamberg. Along with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the Villa Concordia, the museums and the independent cultural scene, it is one of the city's most influential cultural institutions. The theatre is a playhouse and employs a permanent ensemble of 16 actors. It has existed since 1802 and was for a time the place of work of the later namesake E.T.A. Hoffmann.
