Sight 2: Rathaus Pankow
Pankow Town Hall is the administrative building of the former municipality of Pankow or the Berlin district (1920–1990), now the office building of the district administration and the seat of the district mayor of the Pankow district. The original building was built between 1901 and 1903 according to designs by Wilhelm Johow in a mixture of different architectural styles typical of the early 20th century, such as Neo-Gothic, Neo-Baroque and Art Nouveau elements. Its exterior was strikingly designed by the use of red clinker bricks to cover the brick building. At the corner of Neue Schönholzer Straße, it received an extension from 1927 to 1929 according to plans by Alexander Poeschke and Rudolf Klante. This was adapted to the original building, especially in terms of floor height. The town hall is located at Breite Straße 24a–26, not far from the Wollankstraße S-Bahn station. The entire complex has been a listed building since the 1970s.

It was acquired and restored by a charitable foundation in 1999 and now houses a school and a district library.
