The Oldenburg Castle Guard is located on the Schlossplatz and thus in the immediate city center of Oldenburg. It was built in 1839 as a guard building of the Oldenburg military for the military guard of the opposite castle. According to various functions as a police station and service building of the city administration of Oldenburg, the building has been used as a bank building by the Landesparkasse zu Oldenburg (LZO) since 1951 at the latest.
