Individual Sights in HikoneSight 1: Hikone Castle
Hikone Castle is an Edo-period Japanese castle located in the city of Hikone, Shiga Prefecture, Japan. It is considered the most significant historical site in Shiga. The site has been protected as a National Historic Site since 1951. Hikone is one of only twelve castles in Japan with its original tenshu, and one of only five castles with buildings listed as National Treasures.
Sight 2: Rakuraku Gardens
Rakurakuen is a historical building, garden, and remains located in Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture. In the past, it was the lower residence of the Ii family, which was built in the early Edo period (1677) by the 4th lord of the Hikone domain, Naoki Ii.
Sight 3: Genkyū Gardens
Genkyuen is a former daimyo garden located in Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture. It is designated as a national scenic spot as "Gengu Rakuen" along with the area of the national special historic site "Hikone Castle Ruins" and the adjacent Raku-en Garden. On April 24, 2015 (Heisei 27), it was certified as a Japan Heritage Site as a constituent cultural property of "Lake Biwa and its waterside landscape-Water heritage of prayer and living".

The Hikone Castle Museum is a historical museum of the city of Hikone, located in Kanagame-cho, Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan.
Sight 5: 滋賀県護国神社
Shiga Gokoku Shrine is a shrine located in Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan. It enshrines more than 34,000 war veterans related to Shiga Prefecture from the Boshin War to World War II. It is currently a separate shrine of the main office of the shrine.
