Individual Sights in TilburgSight 1: Sint-Jozef of Heuvelse kerk
The Heuvelse kerk is a neo-Gothic Catholic church in the center of the Dutch city Tilburg. Dedicated to Saint Joseph, it is one of two major Catholic churches in the city center together with the Heikese kerk. It is located along the square Heuvel, after which it is named. A 1921 statue of the Sacred Heart is located in front of the building.
Sight 2: Heilig Hartbeeld
The Sacred Heart statue is a statue in the Dutch city of Tilburg. From 1922 to 1966, it was the center of an annual Sacred Heart procession.
Sight 3: Koning Willem II
The Willem II monument on the Heuvel in Tilburg represents King William II of the Netherlands. It was unveiled in The Hague in 1854, but sold in 1924 and transferred to Tilburg, where Willem lived part of his life.
Sight 4: Synagoge Tilburg
The Tilburg Synagogue is a Jewish house of worship in Tilburg that is located at Willem II-straat 20. The building dates from 1874.
Sight 5: Slavernijmonument
The Slavery Monument in the Dutch city of Tilburg is a reminder of the Dutch slavery past. The sculpture, a girl sitting on 'broken chains', was designed by artist duo Dedden & Keizer. It was unveiled on July 1, 2022 at Burgemeester Stekelenburgplein in the Tilburg Spoorzone.
