Sight 1: Jachin Boaz
The Jachin Boazkerk is a church building of the Old Reformed Congregations in the Netherlands on the Singel in Urk, built in 1959 to a design by architect A.W. Helmink. The church has 1,650 seats, making it the second church of this federation after the Mieras Church in Krimpen aan den IJssel. The brick hall church has a tower over 25 meters high.
Sight 2: Kerkje aan de Zee
The Church by the Sea is the oldest building in Urk. It was built in 1786 on the site of an older church. The church is owned by the Churchwardens of the Reformed Municipality of Urk and the church tower is owned by the municipality of Urk. The church has the status of a national monument.
Sight 3: Vissersmonument
The Urk Fishermen's Monument is a monument in Urk on the coast near Wijk 3.
Sight 4: Ommelebommelesteen
The Ommelebommelesteen is a granite boulder in the IJsselmeer, about 30 meters off the coast of Urk. The stone plays an important role in the birth folklore of the former island. The name probably comes from 'bumblebee bombstone' or 'hummel bombstone', an anaphor for hummels, or children.
Sight 5: Vuurtoren Urk
Urk Lighthouse is a lighthouse in Urk at the eastern banks of the IJsselmeer. From 1617 a coal fire was used for the local fishermen as well as for the ships sailing from Amsterdam to the North Sea. The current lighthouse station was established in 1837. The tower was built in 1845 as a round brick tower attached to a keeper's house. A Fresnel lens is still in use. The lighthouse was restored in 1972 and declared a national monument of the Netherlands in 1982. The tower can be visited during guided tours.
