Sight 2: Freiburg Minster
Freiburg Minster is the cathedral of Freiburg im Breisgau, southwest Germany. The last duke of Zähringen had started the building around 1200 in romanesque style. The construction continued in 1230 in Gothic style. The minster was partly built on the foundations of an original church that had been there from the beginning of Freiburg, in 1120.

Under the working title "Cultural Event and Conference Location", it was one of the most controversial building projects in Freiburg since the end of World War II. Until 2016, it served as the headquarters of the Southwest German Radio Symphony Orchestra. With its multiuse great hall, it serves as a venue for a range of diverse events.

Five-wound crosses commemorate a special historical event in the Freiburg district of Stühlinger and invoke God's protection in the Herdern district.
