The Colombischlössle Archeological Museum is a museum in Freiburg im Breisgau in southwest Germany which features the prehistoric inheritance of the High and Upper Rhine. It was founded as the Museum of Prehistory and Early History in 1983. The focus of the museum is on the human development of the High and upper Rhine from the Paleolithic Age to the Early Middle Ages.

The Freiburg Konzerthaus is a concert hall in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, that was opened to the public in 1996. Based on plans by architect Dietrich Bangert, the building is used for concerts and performances, as well as conventions and meetings. Under the working title "Cultural Event and Conference Location", it was one of the most controversial building projects in Freiburg since the end of World War II. Until 2016, it served as the headquarters of the Southwest German Radio Symphony Orchestra. With its multiuse great hall, it serves as a venue for a range of diverse events.

The synagogue known as the Old Synagogue on today's site of the Old Synagogue in Freiburg im Breisgau was built in 1869/70 and destroyed in the Kristallnacht pogrom in 1938. During construction work on the redesign of the square in 2016, remains of the building foundation were discovered, uncovered and documented in several places before it was partially removed and filled in to cover it with a symbolic water basin. The fountain system, known as the Place of Remembrance, corresponds in size and location to the floor plan of the destroyed synagogue and was opened to the public in 2017. With regard to its conception and use, the memorial fountain is still the subject of controversy today.

Freiburg Minster is the cathedral of Freiburg im Breisgau, southwest Germany. The last duke of Zähringen had started the building around 1200 in romanesque style. The construction continued in 1230 in Gothic style. The minster was partly built on the foundations of an original church that had been there from the beginning of Freiburg, in 1120.

The Ludwigskirche in Neuburg, a district of Freiburg im Breisgau, is the place of worship of the Protestant Ludwigsgemeinde. The church, located in Starkenstraße, is directly adjacent to the Old Cemetery and is named after Grand Duke Ludwig I, who had the old Ludwigskirche built, which was destroyed by bombs in 1944 and was located on today's Habsburgerstraße and Rheinstraße. The district of Neuburg is often mistakenly assigned to Herdern, as the term Neuburg is not very well anchored in the population.

The Stadtgarten of Freiburg is a 2.6 ha park within the Neuburg district. It has an old tree grove and a large rose garden, and lies between the Leopoldring, Jackob Burckhardt, Ludwig and Mozart streets near Freiburg's city centre. It is connected to Karlsplatz via the Karlssteg footbridge, which is made from pre-stressed concrete. Since 2008 the Schlossberg Tram, an inclined elevator, leads up to Schlossberg. It replaced the Schlossberg Cable Car built in 1968.

The Schlossberg is a tree-covered hill of 456 metres (1,496 ft) located in the area of the city of Freiburg im Breisgau. It is directly to the east of Freiburg's Old Town and is part of the Black Forest. The main geological fault is at the western edge of the Schlossberg, towards the Upper Rhine Graben.
