Sight 1: Russischer Ehrenfriedhof

The Russian Cemetery Ludwigstal is a Soviet cemetery of honour in Hattingen-Blankenstein on the road Zur Maasbeck near Welper. Only the dead from the Second World War are buried on it. Of the 155 graves, 151 belong to Russian prisoners of war. A memorial at the entrance to the cemetery commemorates the victims of forced labor in Hattingen.

The Stammhaus Gethmann is a half-timbered house at Hauptstraße 12 in the Blankenstein district of Hattingen. It is a two-storey slate half-timbered building. The Gethmann family had lived here since 1730, making a name for themselves as a clothier and later as an entrepreneurial family.
