After the 1755 Lisbon earthquake, the church and its ancillary residence were given to the Lisbon Holy House of Mercy to replace their church and headquarters which had been destroyed. It remains a part of the Holy House of Mercy today, one of its many heritage buildings.

Sight 14: Museu Nacional do Desporto
The National Sports Museum exhibits testimonies of the history and culture of sport and its material and scientific development. Cristiano Ronaldo's boots, Nelson Évora's boots or the Grand-Bi, the predecessor of the bicycle, are some of the pieces of the collection. Inaugurated at Palácio Foz (Restauradores) on July 12, 2012, the year in which Portugal celebrated 100 years of participation in the Olympic Games, the space resulted from the public invitation addressed to sports federations to make known the heritage that athletes and various sports have left. The Museum's facilities at Palácio Foz closed to the public in December 2022, for conservation works on the building.
